When my friend Sergi, from The Destroyed Room, came to visit me in Belgium a few years ago, we decided to form a band where I'd write the lyrics and sing and he would write the music and sing too. We named ourselves Planet Shhh, after the Cap'n Jazz song. And then he came with the idea of the "Shhh Kids". So Lucía and I wrote this song about our idea of what the "Shhh Kids" were. (Clara)
lyrics
I want the kids to gather in the streets
and to embrace every single possibility.
I want the kids to forget all their mistakes
and take a look at what this life could be.
And in the night,
we'll feel fine,
no matter what...
We are the Shhh Kids.
I want the kids to hang out and fall in love
and never be afraid of their very own hearts.
I want the kids to get out with their guitars
and travel 'round the world with songs and sympathy.
And in the night,
we'll feel fine,
no matter what...
We are the Shhh Kids.
Because wherever you go,
in every street, in every corner
or the middle of the woods
there is a chance for us to meet,
a thousand, a million opportunities.
Introspective, homespun folk tunes from John Donne that feel informed by the sugary bleakness of '80s and '90s indie pop. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 1, 2023
